It is not easy

It is not always easy to do the right thing, many times we fear what our friends and family may think of us. We do not want to feel isolated or distanced from others, yet we cannot live with ourselves knowing we have done something that counters our beliefs. I can think of something I did many years ago and I cannot stand the thought that I did not do the right thing. Yet, in some ways it helps me today to remain firm and in control despite what others may think.

  1. Is it wrong to allow someone to believe something you know is not the truth? Are you guilty if you do not share the truth and remain quiet?

  3. I do not like the fact that some retail stores are refusing to use the word Christmas during the holidays. Christmas is one of our greatest traditional holidays in American history and it celebrates the birth of Christ, creates unity in our communities, and causes people to be so loving. How can we disregard this wonderful time of the year?

  4. The other day I had an experience in a Target store that showed me how depraved some people are, no morals or standards.

I was trying to find an electric can opener and as I was looking over the limited selection, a young lady who had been standing in the ailse with her friend and the sales clerk heard me ask the sales clerk (that she was talking to) about the selection and prices. Once I did that the youg lady the sales clerk was talking to said she needed a can opener to and began to look. The prices we saw ranged from $20 to $50, but as I continued to look I spotted a can opener that was much cheaper ($6.39)and I asked the young lady to reach to the bottom of the shelf ( I could not do it) and get it for me. She reached down and picked up the can opener (there was only one) and stated it is $6.39 and turned to me and said I have it in my hands so you are not going to get it. I was shocked! The lack of ethics, the lack of integrity, and the lack of any visible morals was apparent. The shock quickly turned to a mild case of anger at the audacity of the young lady. Mind you, some choice words wanted to roll from my lips, but I was able to keep my peace.

In hind sight, she did me a favor, that $6.39 can opener probably had a very short life to live, so I was better off buying the more expensive one.
